This Privacy Policy explains how Babbitt Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 34 695 388 277) ("Babbitt", "we", "us", "our") collects and uses information when you visit babbitt.app (the "Site"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 1. Analytics we use

To understand how the Site is used and improve it, we use two analytics tools that run in your browser:

Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC).
Metricool (provided by Metricool) — a lightweight, cookie-free website tracker we use to view web traffic alongside our social channels.

2. What these tools collect

Through Google Analytics 4 we collect aggregated, non-identifying data such as:

pages viewed and the order they're viewed in;
how long you spend on the Site and individual sections;
interactions such as clicks on buttons, links, and demo steps;
how far you scroll, and links you follow off the Site;
your approximate location (city/country level, derived from your IP — Google does not log your full IP address to us);
device, browser, operating system, and the site or campaign that referred you.

Metricool collects a smaller set: page views, approximate country, and referrer. It does not set cookies and does not collect personal data.

3. What we do NOT collect through analytics

We never send personal information — such as your name, email address, business name, or anything you type into a form — to Google Analytics or Metricool. Where we record that a form field was used, we record only the field's label (for example, "email"), never its contents.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_KH77ZM2JBK) on the .babbitt.app domain to distinguish visitors and sessions. Because they're set on the parent domain, the same session is recognised across babbitt.app and our codechecker.babbitt.app subdomain. Metricool sets no cookies.

5. Your consent & choices

When you first visit the Site we show a cookie banner. If you are in the EU, EEA, or the UK, analytics cookies stay disabled until you choose "Accept". For visitors in Australia and the rest of the world, analytics are enabled by default and you can opt out at any time by choosing "Decline". Your choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it later by clearing your browser storage for this Site, which brings the banner back. You can also install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.

6. How long we keep it

Analytics event data in Google Analytics 4 is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated, anonymised reporting may be retained for longer as it does not identify you.

7. Third parties & international transfer

Google Analytics and Metricool are third-party services and process data on their own infrastructure, which may be located outside Australia. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies:

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Your rights

Subject to the Privacy Act, you may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (for example, details you submitted through a form). To make a request, or to ask a privacy question, contact us via the contact form on babbitt.app.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the "last updated" date above.
